Made a FTL MFD

I made a FTLD similar to the ones used for RTF.  If anyone wants it, here it is.http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4217

Pretty cool.
Now if you added an attach and detach/launch feature you would have a near universal RTF control for any ship. The icing would be a fleet jump capability.

I was just looking at trying to modify the jump to allow jumping to near a planet or other object and then jumping into "standard" orbit.
I just started to take a look so I'm not into it yet. I know that the scenario editor can put a ship into orbit so I was going to take a look at that code to see how it finds and sets all the correct values for object location.

What I picture is a way to set a destination rather then distance for a jump. The biggest problem would be the display for location. Maybe a big pop-up that showed a zoom able solar system map that you moved a cross hair to place the jump.  Then has you got close to your planet you could jump into  a standard orbit or in the case of an object match velocity and near position.

The all fleet jump mode was an outgrowth of the older whiskers attach point system that was developed in the early days of the forum almost two years ago....... or several hard drive reformats ...... depending on how you look at it.  :o

No, Jon never got that far in the tutorials because he wanted to look over the way he did attachments before going public with it......

And Jon is a known slacker so he never finished the tutorials. ;D
Or many of the ships he has started for that matter............
