I'm happy to finally have the Phantom to fly about, I loved it the first time I saw it, though I was a wee bit disappointed with the landing skids rather than gear.

...I like landing gear...

But seriously, I didn't do much with it. Fired a few missiles on the ground, the smacked in to the hull and spun off course in random directions, but fired perfectly in space. That was the extent of my use of it so far.

Looking forward to trying it out more later.

I love it! Ever since the first time I saw a screenshot of it, I've been wanting the Phantom, now I have something to use when mounting an assault on a planet...

Thanks for the comments guy's.  Without the collision .dll the missiles won't squirrel like that.  On the landing gear thing sometimes it's a choice between animations to keep the model size and fps down.  Some people have a thing for landing gear as I've read in other posts.  I like gear but I don't find it an issue really if a ship doesn't have it but that's just me I guess.  But it's good to know that you guy's would like to see landing gear on future projects I take it. On my stuff I have zero skill as a ground up modeler and the stuff I put in my hanger was done by someone else and ported over to O by me.  I can fool myself and say that I'll add gear but then it would just sit in a project pile and never get touched or God forbid I did try it and it looked like crap lol.   If the model comes with gear I'm getting better at animating the groups but that's about it.  I have had some really funny results playing with animations with SC ini's and taken the hat and glasses and feet off of the pilot in the VFleet shuttle and laughed for hours about it watching it over and over again.  Or putting the wrong .dll with a beta model we were working on and hitting a key to do something and the whole wall on one side and all the toilet paper rolls raise up over the ship lol.  What can I say I'm easily entertained.

I've had some intresting rusults playing around with things over the years. You're doing it right Cap. The only way to learn about this side of O is to dive in and play around with it.

I still stink at making curved surfaces but I'm getting better at it. My biggest problem is that I don't really spend enough time at it. I forget what I've learned then have to relearn it over again until it gets shifted down into long term memory.

I have a preference for landing gear cause it always looks cool, especally when they have great animations like the gear on the newer Firefly. I understand not using them in some models, I was only making a joke for the fun of it, no stressing to try and figure it out fast if it comes to it.

If I had the time to sit down and really learn how to mod Orbiter, and a life that let me think with a clearer mind, I'd be trying to learn it too. Lots of ideas of cool projects  to try out  with stuff I've seen in the fleet. Who knows, maybe some day.

So you want cool gear huh?  I'll put something in the Black op's later today that I've been working on.
